Hi, my name is Debbie; I'm the co-founder of
NWNaturalWear.com. I am so happy you've
chosen to buy one (or more!) of our products!
I am eager for you to enjoy your purchase for a
long, long time! So below I've listed some
washing, care and general use tips for some of
our products. If you have any questions at all, you
can always contact me by sending an e-mail to:

Franklin owned a paper mill which produced hemp paper. There is no question that hemp has played a big role in
the history of our nation's agricultural and industrial growth. NWNaturalWear.com is simply keeping with a centuries-
old tradition in this country.
Why Hemp?
- Hemp fiber is the strong and durable - it will last 6 times longer than mainstream cotton fiber
- The hemp plant grows easily and puts down deep roots to draw nutrients towards the soil surface that other
plants can benefit from. Hemp plants do not require a great deal of water, fertilizers or pesticides to
grow. (Unlike conventional cotton, which requires vast amounts of all three!) Farming hemp organically is
very easy to do.
- The hemp fiber is anti-fungal; it both wicks away moisture and is water-resistant! Hemp fiber is thicker
than conventional cotton, allowing more airspace to facilitate warmth in cold weather and a cooling
quality in warm weather.
- Our products demonstrate how sophisticated hemp fabric manufacturing techniques have become; hemp
fabric no longer looks or feels like old flour sacks. Today's hemp fabrics are well-made, soft and stylish.
Hemp Information
Before I start listing the product care information, I
wanted to explain a little about the use of
hemp-based materials in many of our products.
NWNaturalwear.com's use of hemp-based
materials isn't a political statement. Hemp has a
long history in the United States as being an
integral part of goods manufacturing; hemp was
grown and used for fiber and fabrics, ropes and
ship sails, food products, and paper practically
from the beginning of American colonization.
George Washington and Thomas Jefferson both
grew hemp as a cash crop; Benjamin
Lavender Eye Pillow Care
Ideally, when not in use, store the eye pillow in an airtight casing (like a zipper lock bag); keep the bagged eye
pillow in a cool place. Do not get them wet.
Hand wash the hemp silk cover in cool water with a gentle detergent. Hang to dry. Low temperature
tumble-dry is acceptable (hang dry is recommended), but do not leave in the dryer for very long. Remove
immediately once dry.
Hemp Belts and Yoga Straps
Hemp D-Ring and Square-Ring Web Belts and Yoga Straps
Hemp fabric is naturally moth-proof and can be stored conventionally. Avoid keeping your belts or any other
hemp fabric products in a cedar-lined drawer or near heated pipes or ducts - both can discolor the fabric.
(This discoloration can be remedied by immediately washing the belt and sun-drying to whiten the fabric.) Your
hemp D-Ring and Square-Ring belts can be machine-washed at any temperature. If the belt has become
stained, use a good pre-wash stain-remover (like "Spray-and-Wash") before washing. The belts can be
tumble-dried, but hemp does dry fast and the belts can simply be hung up to air-dry.
Hemp Web Belts with Military-Style Buckle
The same information and washing recommendations for D-Ring and Square-Ring belts apply to your
hemp belt with the military-style buckle. However, the military-style buckle can be removed by prying up the
locking flange that secures the buckle to the belt fabric. If you do remove the military-style, be careful not to
damage the belt fabric while prying the locking flange up; make certain the hemp web belt is completely dry
before replacing the military-style buckle. (Hemp fabric is actually stronger when it is wet, but replacing the
military style buckle while the hemp web belt is still wet or damp may result in some rust marks on the fabric.)
