Fight Global Warming With Cool Things

Hi, my name is Debbie; I'm the co-founder of
NWNaturalWear.com. Welcome to our website!
How NWNaturalWear.com Was Created
I was raised on a small piece of acreage in
Northern California. Much of what we ate was
grown right on our property; we kept chickens,
cows and other farm animals. My mother sewed
many of the clothes my siblings, parents and I
wore. Without realizing it, our family lifestyle
conformed with many of the organic and
sustainable habits and practices we've all come
to strive for today.
As a young adult, I carried with me a - well -
natural sense of the importance of a lifestyle
that is kind to the earth - supporting locally
made products and locally-grown foods. I was

a quintessential Ashland, Oregon "hippie chick", but I came by the characterization honestly - I saw it as a lifestyle,
not a fad.
As time closed in on the 21st Century, I became increasingly drawn towards the movement advocating
comprehensive recycling practices, sustainable living modalities and reduced energy consumption. I ratcheted up
many of my personal commitments to a low-carbon footprint, and then, in 2006, I reached an epiphany of sorts.
Al Gore's "Inconvenient Truth" Tour
Former Vice-President, Al Gore, toured the
country, taking his message of the ecological
tipping point we were teetering on directly to the
people. I had the opportunity to see his
presentation here in Portland, Oregon. I was
alarmed and became an immediate convert,
shifting my energy-saving efforts into high gear.
But even that didn't seem like enough for me.
NWNaturalWear.com is Born
I believe many people would like to make a stronger contribution to a healthier planet. Many of us do what we can
to conserve water and energy. We willingly pay a little more to outfit our homes with energy-efficient fixtures and
appliances. We recycle and compost; consolidate errands; walk or bike instead of drive when practical, etc.
I decided to offer consumers a chance to buy affordable, practical products made in the United States, constructed
from organic, recycled or sustainable materials. I wear or use almost every item sold on NWNaturalWear.com - you
can rely on their quality, value and earth-friendly materials; our Green Policy page details for you the myriad of
ways we save energy, prevent waste and essentially practice what I preach.
In short, when you buy something from NWNaturalWear.com, you're not only getting affordable, high-quality
merchandise - you can be confident you're taking another firm step towards helping the planet:
- Products Made In U.S.A. Support Our Economy
- Products Constructed from Organic, Recycled and/or Sustainable Material Strengthen Our Ecology
- Buying Online Reduces Consumption - Energy, Costs and Time all Benefit from Economies of Scale
Thank you for joining me in helping our planet, our economy and our way of life!
